DP's denunciation of vote buying in Korça/ Young man reacts: No one

Following the public denunciation made by the Democratic Party's candidate for deputy, Edmond Spaho, the Kreka family has reacted. The youngest son of this family, the protagonist in the published video, has denied all the words he said in the video.

Kleant Kreka explains that he lied about what he said out of fear, while stating that no one came to offer him money.

" Yesterday, some people passed by on the street, I went out to meet someone and saw them making a video. Out of fear, I told them a couple of empty words, but they are not true. No one came to the house yesterday. No one came here for money, no one came here for money. I just told them out of fear that I had no way to tell them, there were so many and I had no way to escape. I don't even know the candidate's face, I have never seen him before ," said Kleant Kreka.

Meanwhile, the eldest son of the Kreka family says that the situation was caused by the fear that his younger brother felt in the face of unknown people who questioned him.

According to him, he was only informed about the incident after the footage was shared on social media. He also denies having received any promises of financial benefits from any candidate.

" This video is useless. It's not true that we are fatherless, they look at us as children and do this. The police came to our house last night at 1 am, we had arguments here, they took us to Maliq. He made the video out of fear that he was in trouble because they would beat him. No MP has come here. I met him on the street, he told me that I am an MP, he gave me a letter and I said that I don't even want a letter or anything because I'm sick of these things. It's not true about the money. I feel shocked, we have our minds all over there ," Landi Kreka said.

The mother of the two young men, Mimoza Kreka, explains that no candidate for deputy entered her apartment yesterday. She admits that the children may have met the candidate outside the house, but in no case was any offer of money made.

" No, I haven't met with any candidate. The video is not true at all, because the boy said it out of fear. No one promised me money. After I found out, I don't feel good, for us as parents it is difficult to teach our children for good, not for bad, " said the mother of the two young men.

Yesterday evening, Edmond Spaho published two videos made by several people who claimed that vote buying was taking place in the village of Podgorie in favor of the Socialist Party and candidate Arian Jaupllari.

Regarding this event, the police have initiated investigative procedures to clarify the circumstances, while the case is expected to be investigated by a SPAK prosecutor, assigned to the Korça Prosecutor's Office./ CNA
