Dash Shehi: I tried to unite the sister parties, but my ego didn't let me

The political leader of the opposition coalition "Right for Development", Dashamir Shehi, has stated that he is not afraid of small parties.

In a television appearance, Shehi said that he has tried to bring the small sister parties together, but stated that egos do not allow them to come together.

"We compete in almost all the big cities. We are not the loudest in the campaign, we do not stand out, but we have our supporters. In every district we have candidates who have been MPs with integrity. We are not afraid of big or smaller parties. Of course, we do not have strong structures or money. We lack these, but we do not give up.

In 1992, it was the parliament of doctors, and now it is the parliament of oppressors, but it could get even worse. Politics used to come from all fields, while today no one knows them, it is enough to serve.

I tried to join forces with other sister parties, but the ego did not let me. We have principles, with open lists. We had some things in common, but some wanted closed lists. We joined two groups, the others saw their own interests. Maybe thinking that we are young and these old people are hindering us.

"The whole desire was to get everyone together, but there were obstacles and the big parties won. If we were together, it would be a big opposition force. Basha also set some conditions that we did not unite," said Shehi./ CNA
