Berisha: The 2025 budget is the biggest theft in history
The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, commented on the 2025 draft budget during his speech at the night protest, on "Mustafa Matohiti" street.

Berisha said that the 2025 draft budget is the budget of the biggest theft in history.

He raised accusations that the government took 57 billion euros from the budget of Albanians and used this money to increase the salaries of ministers, the salaries of deputies, the salaries of prosecutors and the salaries of directors.

"These days, the draft budget came to the parliament, I declared and I declare, that this is the budget of the biggest theft in history. Whoever does not believe this I invite him to ask himself a question; what happened to 57 billion euros of budgets from 2014 until today. I tell Albanian citizens that, out of these 57 billion euros, only 7.5 billion euros are the 10-year salary payments of Albanians. What happened to 50 billion euros?

Dear friends!

With 50 billion euros, with the tip of the pencil, with absolute truth, I guarantee every Albanian that if it had been defined as a principle, that the budget belongs to the citizens and not to the governors, today in the Republic of Albania there could never be a pension of 300 euros . Today in the Republic of Albania, there would never be a minimum wage of 500 euros. Today in Albania there would never be an average salary of 1200 euros. But what happened, what happened, friends?

With all 57 billion euros, taxes of Albanian citizens, Albanian businessmen, their taxes, pensions did not increase a penny. They were indexed to the extent of 27%, while only to be indexed according to the increase in prices, they should have increased by 52%. So friends, every pensioner today receives at least 30% less than in 2013.

But what happened to minimum wages? And the minimum wages, in addition to inflation, do not cope. But there was something that increased a lot, and these increased, the salaries of ministers, the salaries of MPs, the salaries of Skapi's mercenaries, the salaries of narco-directors", declared Berisha./ CNA
