The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, has given an ultimatum for Albanian politics, as we are on the verge of the electoral campaign.

Kim said that elections should be held according to international norms and political leaders should take their responsibilities seriously.

In an interview for the Voice of America, she emphasized that the candidates of May 14 must be clean.

“Është përgjegjësia e qeverisë dhe e udhëheqësve politikë, që të sigurohen për të kuptuar dhe për t’iu përgjigjur shqetësimeve që janë shprehur nga ODIHR-i. Pozicioni i Shteteve të Bashkuara gjithmone ka qenë shumë i qartë për këtë. Sigurisht, do të vazhdojmë të punojmë me të gjitha autoritetet, me udhëheqësit dhe anëtarët e partive politike, që të përpiqemi për të bërë më të mirën për të mbështetur zgjedhje të lira dhe të ndershme.
