Enkelejd Alibeaj, who resigned from his post as commanding chairman of the Democratic Party of Vula, spoke today about his decision and the result of the elections.

Although he was massively abandoned by the electorate, Enkelejd Alibeaj said this afternoon that his resignation has nothing to do with the ridiculous result he got in the May 14 elections.

Surprisingly, he does not call the result in the local elections a failure, on the contrary, according to him, this is the beginning of a new democratic journey.

"Leaving the leadership position is not related to the numbers after the elections. This was not a defeat, the Democratic Party has been resized before these elections for everything that has happened in 1 and a half years from an internal aggression, the aim of which was to execute the Democratic Party, but in my view not only is it not executed but survived.

It has survived not only in terms of numbers, that the voters were convinced that they were not voting for the winner, as would be the pragmatist attitude, but they believed in this conviction, this is a support of the Democratic Party of the future.

Today I can say and everyone will have the opportunity to understand, the Democratic Party is clearly positioned in its democratic philosophy. In these terms, this can never be seen as a failure", stressed Enkelejd Alibeaj./ CNA.al
