The leader of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, reacted today regarding the 25-day citizen protests that are taking place against the government.

Through a statement to the media, Ahmeti expresses that he feels pain for the country, while denying that with his stances he is defending Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to the leader of the DUI, only the enemies of the nation are trying to create insecurity in Albania.

"There are some events, developments in Albania as well. It is a country where we have been helped. Albania has sheltered Kosovo. Albania is an inseparable part of Kosovo's freedom. Without the help, without the means of Albania, Kosovo would not be the Kosovo it is today. Therefore, we are following things with pain. We see that here Albania, from these protests that do not know where their heads are, is taking two blows. Strong blows.

Albania's main industry is tourism. Tourism is being hit. Where did the first campaign come from? From Greece, because tourism is being threatened by Albania, it is being threatened by Greece. A neighboring country should not think like this about its neighbor, but here it is, the first statement and the first reactions came from Greece. Who became the first spokesperson for this campaign? In Belgrade? The same one who campaigns for protests in Serbia campaigns for protests in Albania.

Someone may stand up and say: Ali Ahmeti is defending Edi Rama. No, Ali Ahmeti is defending Albania and Albania is hurting. It is being hit. The main branch of industry, tourism, is being hit; the main branch, foreign and domestic investments. Don't think that there are no consequences for domestic investors, let alone foreign ones. Because no domestic investor risks their capital where there is uncertainty.

And who is trying to create insecurity in Albania? The enemies of the Albanian nation. I am not saying that these people have come out in the open, they are enemies, but they have fallen into the trap of the enemies, without analyzing and studying well the consequences they cause to the nation, not only in Albania, but also beyond. /CNA
