The President of Serbia follows the refrain that he will not recognize Kosovo, although practically Serbia recognizes Kosovo and those who follow it.

" For us, the recognition of Kosovo's independence is not an issue and I have repeated this several times and I am not ashamed to say it and repeat it in front of the president of the European Commission", said today the President of Serbia during a joint conference for journalists with the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen.

Serbia has de-facto recognized Kosovo several times since the declaration of Independence.

Serbia, which in the Constitution approved in 2006 wrote that Kosovo is part of Serbia, has accepted that with the liberalization of visas - in 2010, only a "part of the territory and only a part of the inhabitants" would benefit.

Serbia has agreed for decades to negotiate that only a part of its territory and a part of its population will join the European Union.

Serbia has accepted (and there is nothing else to do) that only part of the territory and only part of the population will not impose sanctions on Russia as the aggressor in the war against Ukraine.

Also, Serbia has agreed to keep its army only in a part of its territory, and not only the army, but also the administration and every institution of the state.

On September 24 of this year, the envoys in "military uniforms" from Serbia proved that everything means facing the law in Kosovo.

Serbia has accepted with the agreement of Kumanova on June 10, 1999 that it has lost the territory of Kosovo and its preservation and administration will be done by international forces and security will be guaranteed by NATO.

The President of Serbia himself cannot go to Kosovo without permission!

What would the recognition of Kosovo by Serbia bring?

The political recognition of the state of Kosovo would make everything easier both in Kosovo-Serbia relations, as well as for the region and its future in the EU.  

Serbia, so far, has chosen the most difficult path... procrastination.
