From Brizida Gjikondi/ Open letter to Mrs. Lindita Nikolla!
Brizida Gjikondi

Hello Mrs. Lindita,

I am writing these lines with a faint hope, wanting to ignite in you the light of an Albanian Mother and believer, a bit of a politician, but also in the service of the first two.

Getting on topic.

As you are aware due to your function, a draft law called "On sexual and reproductive health" has come to the Parliament of Albania.

Project/Law, which in its entirety read with calmness and attention (since it is known that the devil is always hidden in the details) barbarically hits the basic institution when the Albanian society and state is established, hits the Family.

Because of your faith, which is the same as mine, I believe that you are familiar with St. Mary of Fatima, which today has a day, and which is among the few cases known by the Vatican. Sister Lucia, the survivor of that mystical event, a contemporary of Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II, wrote in her diary that "the final clash between evil and good will be over the Family and marriage, who will to fight for their sanctity not to be afraid even though it will suffer"

Just like 30 years ago, the Holy Pope of the Albanians, Pope John Paul II, in May 1994, just released from the hospital in St. Peter's Square, said with pain: "The family is under threat and attack, we must protect it even by suffered" Exactly that year, he called it the year of the family.

But what does this draft law offer as innovation to Albanian families?

In short, I am referring to you.

1. According to this draft law, every Albanian is guaranteed by law without any medical or legal reason to fulfill his wish to be sterilized, or as this law explains "Sterilization is a medical surgical procedure, through which it is carried out the permanent prohibition of an individual's ability to reproduce" ... and to think that ironically this "right" has been placed in the Article called "family planning"

2. Adolescents and minors under the age of 16 can have an abortion even without the consent of the parent, while this paradox, which I would call a knife in the soul of the Albanian family and parental authority, contradicts the treatment of minors in the Constitution of Albania, Family Code, Civil Code, Criminal Code, etc.

3. The age of abortion for fetuses is increased and abortion is allowed even in the 22nd week. That is, 5 and a half months. And for me this is one of the most criminal Articles. That is, thanks to advanced technology, it has already been proven that in the 22nd week of life, the fetus not only has a small heart beating and all its organs have been created, but also its fingerprints have already been created, it is 27 centimeters long and weighs 380 grams but for the drafters of this draft law, this murder is neither a crime nor a sin.

4. Women without a partner. It is allowed and recognized that even a woman without a partner uses medical techniques for medically assisted reproduction. In other words, in addition to selfishness on the pedestal, there is also another escalation of the foundations of the Albanian family and society, children without natural parents and without families.

5. Surrogate mothers, according to a written agreement (pure business) between two women, one will carry the fetus of the other and will give birth to the child on behalf of the client.

6. Every Albanian or foreign citizen, even without citizenship, is offered these "rights" in our territory.

This draft law is gloomy and, for me, anti-national, not only contradicts the spirit of the Albanian Constitution, which in its Article 53 sanctions "MARRIAGE AND THE FAMILY ENJOY THE SPECIAL PROTECTION OF THE STATE", but also contradicts the Albanian reality, where even though the Albanian family is going through deep crises of stability and aggression from the anti-values ??and immorality that rule, and from the individualistic interests that this era is nurturing, it continues to survive, so this draft law not only does not protect its interests, but rather hits it hangs on its supporting and identifying pillars.

Talking about the Albanian family means talking about something very fragile and wounded in society, from whose traumas derive many unhappiness and tragedies in our society.

I do not idealize the family, since we are living beings and the one seen closely is not perfect as we are, the point is not to compromise with its essence. This era is teaching Albanians to be individualistic and heartless, it is teaching and orienting us to love someone or take care of someone only if we need it or it serves us, and when we no longer need it, to throw it away.

If this draft law had been proposed by private clinics or segments with non-dominant orientations of society, I could understand it, but for this draft law to be offered by the Albanian state, this speaks to me not only of its deep failure in the face of failure ( abortion) but also for a totally myopic and suspicious orientation towards the basic pillars of a society and the state, the population and the sacred institution of the family.

Many, many laws of this country, especially in the field of health and protection of citizens' lives, have failed, they have failed because not only they are not based on reality and concrete statistics, but also because this country does not have the health structures and personnel, the coverage of the territory with these structures, the education of the population and the pro-life philosophy that should guide it.

This draft law is a draft law against life, aggressive and its execution. This draft law, which was not consulted by the entire Albanian society, is poor in medical, legal and especially humane logic. And let's not forget that this draft law, if approved, is the gateway to the hell of degeneration, immorality and the criminal model that is offered to Albanian youth as normality.

As for Abortion, I want to say my point of view in a few words.

Abortion is a moral and national issue, personally I think we can never trade a crime (killing a living being) for a women's right.

Every abortion is not only a child killed but also a failed state in its existence and its social and health policies.

Abortion is a great trauma that few women have not experienced. And who has experienced it, it is impossible not to carry it with you as pain accompanied by questions, what would that child's face look like, what fate would he have, how much would I love him..

Selfishness cannot win over life. Abortion is not only about women's rights but also about the right to life. The fetus has its own body, heart and right to live.

I repeat strongly, that only a failed state that has failed with the vision of population growth (unfortunately, the results of last year's census have not yet been released) that has failed in education, protection and coverage of the territory with the health system makes such a project laws and own goals.

The United States of America, a year ago, turned its eyes and the Constitution to the pro-life philosophy, many European countries are resisting the attacks, degradation and undoing of the family, so this ugly rush of this draft law that does not reflect the Albanian reality it is scary for the anti-national backgrounds and interests that have protected it.

And to close, I want to point out something, we Albanians often betray our national and international symbols, here I am not talking about Skenderbeu, but about our Mother Teresa, who is the Saint of the poor, families and children never born . In her speech that shocked the world's most powerful in December 1979 when she received the Nobel Prize, she said, among other things..

"We who are staying here, stay because our parents loved us. We wouldn't be here if our parents aborted us. Today, the greatest tool, the greatest destroyer of peace, is not war, it is abortion, Millions are dying intentionally by the will of their mothers! This is the greatest destroyer of peace today! When the mother kills her child, then what will she do with you and me when there is nothing between us? This is exactly why I appeal..., I appeal everywhere! "

Dear Ms. Lindita, I really hope that in your soul, even as a believer, a light will be lit for life and family, not forgetting the words that Don Bosco used to say "if God is with us, we are the majority"

Good job and Happy International Family Day which is on May 15.
