Qyteti në formën e trurit

Vetëm 10 minuta me varkë nga kryeqyteti i Maldiveve po ndërtohet një qytet lundrues. Qyteti ka kapacitet për të strehuar 20.000 njerëz dhe do të përfshijë 5000 shtëpi lundruese, restorante, dyqane dhe shkolla. Qyteti do të ketë një strukturë të ngjashme me trurin.

Qyteti pritet të përfundojë në vitin 2027, por banorët e parë do të priten në vitin 2024. Arsyeja e krijimit të këtij qytetit ka të bëjë me rritjen e ashpër të nivelit të detit.

Në Maldive gjenden 1,190 ishuj, ndaj dhe kjo e ka bërë një nga vendet më të cenueshme në botë nga ndryshimet klimatike.

80% e sipërfaqes tokësore është më pak se një metër mbi nivelin e detit. Sipas parashikimeve, nivelet mund të rriten deri në një metër, ndërsa deri në fund të shekullit, pothuajse i gjithë vendi mund të zhytet në ujë./ Përkthyer dhe përshtatur nga CNA.al.
