International students flock to Germany for job opportunities

International students in Germany have cited good job prospects as the main reason for choosing the country as a study destination, while German students studying abroad prioritize personal development and cultural interest in their academic decisions, the German Academic Exchange Service has found ( DAAD).

According to a study by Benchmark International University (BintHo), which includes 120,000 German and international students, the European country has become an important place to study and work for international students, with the latter claiming to be satisfied with the quality of education provided in German institutions of higher education, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.

“[The BintHo study] is an important tool for German universities to monitor their internationalization activities. The current findings show that Germany is very attractive as a place to study and the German job market for international students and that students from all over the world are very satisfied with their German universities," said DAAD President Joybrato Mukherjee.

International students' motives for choosing Germany are mainly related to the quality of education and job prospects

As the survey reveals, Germany was the first choice for 10,541 or 76 per cent of international students who took part in the survey, with the majority (93 per cent) citing the attractive range of courses and convenient study conditions as the main reasons. for choosing this country to pursue their academic career.

Some 88 percent of foreign students were attracted by the international reputation of degrees issued by a German university, and 81 percent of other students valued the lucrative career prospects after graduation they could find in the European country.
