“GjiroClassica” brings classical music to the heart of Gjirokastra

Artists from Albania and Kosovo light up the stage of the historic city.

Gjirokastra has been transformed into a magical music scene these days thanks to the "GjiroClassica" festival, which is taking place from May 22 to 25, 2025 in the city's historic premises. This festival combines classical music with the unique atmosphere of Gjirokastra, bringing together talented artists from all over Albania.

Among the participants, Yll Haliti, a young artist from Kosovo, stood out, who performed with sensitivity and high technique on the piano, receiving warm applause from the audience.

"I am 18 years old, I come from Mitrovica, I am a pianist. I have been playing the piano for about 13 years, I started music when I was 4 years old. During these years I have participated in many recitals and concerts. This is the first time I have performed in Gjirokastra."

Alongside him, the renowned pianist Moza Çabeli also took to the stage, bringing a rich classical repertoire, while her charm and deep interpretation touched the hearts of those present.

"It was a very beautiful evening with children, competitors, guests, spectators. There will be continuous activities like this, there will be 5 evenings that will take place in every alley of the city."

The organization of the festival was carried out by Kristina Laço, who has been the inspiration and driver of this activity that is now becoming a cultural tradition of the city.

"The Gjiroklasika Festival is the edition dedicated to young people who have a history of success, are artists of the Albanian scene and abroad. Today we were with Ylli, while in the following days there will be other artists."

The "GjiroClassica" festival is not only an artistic event, but also a call for the promotion of the cultural values ??of Gjirokastra, making it an important meeting point for art and classical music in the region./ CNA
