The police of Shkodra, in a press release, revealed the entire dynamics of the murder of 33-year-old Ramazan Mataj.

I am here today, together with the Deputy Director for Criminal Investigation Ledio Ibrahimi and the district prosecutor Albert Murçaj, to present the results of an intensive investigative work carried out as part of the coded police operation "Fake Profile", for the clarification of the authorship of the event that happened on 05.01.2025, in the village of Dragoç, where citizen Ramazan Mataj, 33 years old, was killed with a firearm.

The Local Directorate of the Shkodra Police, immediately after the notification of the incident in the village of Dragoç, set up a special investigation group and together with numerous services of the Police of Shkodra, the National Security Force Unit Shkodra and the Border and Migration Directorate Shkodra , went to the scene.

The Police Services, after quick actions at the scene, escorted many citizens to the Police premises to question them about the incident.

Meanwhile, the investigative group, led by the Prosecutor's Office, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, specifically with the Directorate for the Investigation of Serious Crimes and the Directorate for the Investigation of Cyber ??Crimes, continued to work intensively to find and record material evidence that would to serve the investigation for clarifying the event.

As a result of an intensive several-day investigation, within the coded police operation "Fake Profile", the investigative group found important evidence that led to the clarification of the event, identification, capture and arrest of the perpetrator. Also, during the operation, the mechanism of the event was clarified, documented and with some film footage where the perpetrator appeared, walking on the street.

The investigation showed that citizen Arjon Hasaj, 29 years old, a resident of Dragoç, for weak motives, organized and carried out the murder of citizen Ramazan Mataj. The 29-year-old, through fake accounts on social networks, communicated with the citizen Ramazan Mataj, to ambush him in the village of Dragoç, where he is suspected of having killed him.

Also, from the investigations, it is suspected that the citizen Ramazan Mataj had influenced the breakdown of the marital relations of the author's sister.

The suspected author was helped by his brother, citizen Klisman Hasaj, to ensure the conditions to commit the murder and to hide the crime weapon.

As a result of the controls, it became possible to find the firearm with which the perpetrator is suspected of having committed the murder. After the crime, the two brothers hid the gun in a wooded area and then buried it in the ground in the yard of the apartment. At the end of the investigations, the citizens were arrested:

Arjon Hasaj, for the criminal offenses "Premeditated murder" and "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons, explosive weapons and military ammunition";

Klisman Hasaj, for the criminal offense "Providing the conditions and material means to commit murder".

At the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue for the full legal documentation of this event.

We emphasize the fact that after the incident, many messages from citizens have come to the address of DVP Shkodër, for cooperation and support, as well as information, which, regardless of validity, was encouraging for the intensive work that the Police did to clarify this event with public impact .
