He was serving his sentence in Shkodra prison/ The prisoner was found dead

The General Directorate of Prisons informs the public that, on 25.01.2026, at the Shkodra Penitentiary Institution, citizen Nicolae Ionnut Erion Deliver, born on 23.03.2005, born in Romania and residing in Shkodra, passed away.

This citizen was arrested on 07.10.2024 and accommodated in the Shkodra Penitentiary on 10.10.2024, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Theft with violence" and "Production and sale of narcotics".

According to preliminary information, during this morning, the citizen was found by the service personnel lying in bed, which led to the immediate notification of the institution's health personnel. After the medical assessment, low vital parameters were found and first medical aid was given, with a recommendation for immediate transfer to the regional hospital emergency room.

He was immediately rushed to Koplik Hospital, the nearest health facility. During the transport, he was given medical assistance by the health staff. In the emergency room of Koplik Hospital, he was given immediate medical assistance, but the emergency doctor later determined that the citizen had passed away (exitus letalis).

The institution has immediately notified the competent authorities and is fully cooperating in the full clarification of the circumstances of the incident, in accordance with the legal procedures in force.

The General Directorate of Prisons expresses its willingness to make any further information available, in accordance with the law.
