The Maltese police have arrested a 36-year-old Albanian man, after allegedly committing a double murder on the Greek island of Aegina and burning his two victims.

Ledjon Brakaj, residing in Marsaskala, was arrested today based on a European arrest warrant issued by Greece last March.

Brakaj is suspected of murdering retired souvenir shop owner Irini Marmarino and her nephew Lambros Protonotarios inside her home in 2015 and robbing them of around 780,000 euros in cash and valuables.
