Today, a serious incident happened in Durrës, where the police officer Arben Pjeçi ended his life, having used his service weapon in the workplace.

After the family members reported him missing, the Durrës Police Station started searching and Pjeçi was found to have committed suicide in his office.

According to police information, Arben Pjeçi was sentenced by a final decision by the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for the criminal offense of "slight injury", based on Article 89 of the Criminal Code.

The Court's final decision has begun to be executed by the responsible structures of the Probation Service and the State Police.

The Police employee, in the conditions of depression due to the penalties brought by the final punishment decision that conditioned him in the future with the termination of the work relationship with the State Police, committed suicide with the service weapon in the premises of the work office, in Durra Police Station.

For this event, a special investigative group was created, under the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office and officers of the Judicial Police of the Prosecutor's Office.
