Illegal trade in fireworks/ Two people arrested in Tirana

Tirana Police have continued with inspections of commercial entities and other premises to crack down on cases of illegal fireworks trading. As a result of the inspections, two people have been arrested and one other person has been criminally prosecuted.

Considerable quantities of pyrotechnics, fuel, and suspected smuggled clothing were seized as material evidence.

The structures of the DVP Tirana, controls in commercial entities and other premises, in implementation of the plan of measures for the prevention, identification and crackdown on cases of illegal trade in pyrotechnics.

As a result of the controls, 3 cases of possession of pyrotechnics and explosives with the intention of selling and one case of smuggling of goods were detected.

2 citizens are arrested, 1 is criminally prosecuted.

Considerable quantities of pyrotechnics, fuel, and suspected smuggled clothing are seized.

In implementation of the plan of measures to intensify controls, with the aim of preventing the illegal trade of pyrotechnic substances, the Tirana Police services have identified three cases of this activity and have carried out procedural actions against the suspected perpetrators, specifically:

-Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Station No. 3 arrested citizen HZ, 22 years old, after a search of his vehicle and apartment found a significant amount of pyrotechnics. A large amount of suspected smuggled clothing was also found. The pyrotechnics and clothing were seized as material evidence; 

-Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Station No. 4 arrested citizen DQ, 22 years old, after various pyrotechnic items were found during a search of his vehicle and apartment, which were seized as material evidence;

-The Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Station No. 2 referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen RH, 45 years old, after a quantity of suspected explosive material was found during a search of the market owned by him, on "Frosina Plaku" street, which was seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action. / CNA
