215 kg of cannabis seized/ 3 Albanians arrested in Greece, 23-year-old attempted

The Drug Enforcement Police in Ioannina and the Konica AT began a pursuit of a car, which was reported to be transporting a large amount of drugs.

According to the ELAS announcement, a 23-year-old Albanian woman, who had her 2.5-year-old son in the jeep she was driving, did not hesitate to make dangerous maneuvers and crash into patrols to escape.

After stopping the car in Bovusa, Ioannina, the police found 118 packages of cannabis inside it with a total weight of 215 kilograms! In addition to the 23-year-old, the Florina traffic police found a vehicle in Fillepajë, Grebenave that served as a preliminary sign of the woman's jeep and arrested two foreigners who were in that car.

In this case, a file was formed for drug distribution, violence against state employees, dangerous driving, exposure, damage to foreign property, and violation of legislation on foreigners.

A large quantity of drugs was seized yesterday (15-12-2025) at noon by the Drug Enforcement Section of the Ioannina Crime Investigation and Detection Sub-Branch, in an area of ??Ioannina, preventing its further distribution and trafficking.

In this case, a foreign woman and two foreign men were arrested, against whom a file was opened for drug distribution, violence against state employees, dangerous driving, exposure, damage to foreign property and violation of legislation on foreigners.

Regarding the chronology of the case, yesterday morning, in an area of ??Ioannina, on the Ioannina - Kozana highway and within the framework of using information, police officers from the relevant service and the Konica Police Station identified a jeep-type vehicle, driven by a foreign woman, while another vehicle was driving in front of it.

The driver, who did not obey the police stop signals and taking advantage of the difficult weather and road conditions, as well as the police's priority to ensure the physical integrity of everyone, followed a long route, also passing through areas of the Grebena district, until she was finally stopped in Bovusa of Ioannina by employees of the Drug Enforcement Section and OPKE of the Sub-Branch for the Investigation and Detection of Crimes in Ioannina. Along the way, the driver, in an attempt to escape police control, intentionally hit service vehicles twice, causing damage.

Her 2.5-year-old son was also found inside the vehicle, filled with 118 packages of raw cannabis, with a total weight of 215 kilograms.

In addition to the vehicle and the large quantity of drugs, the following were also seized:

two car license plates, issued by Greek authorities, which were matched to the vehicle after being found to belong to another vehicle.

two original vehicle license plates, issued by Albanian authorities, which were found inside it.

a metal cannabis grinder.

a plastic box with 2.7 grams of raw cannabis.

three mobile phones.

Also, following a notification and exchange of information between the police services involved, Grebenave Traffic officers had previously identified in Filippaj, Grebenave the vehicle that served as a preliminary sign, in which the two foreign collaborators of the accused were traveling, who were arrested.

Their vehicle, along with 510 euros and two mobile phones, which were found in their possession, were seized.
