Drug trafficker/ Member of criminal group extradited to Albania

Following the close cooperation of Interpol Tirana specialists with their counterparts from Interpol Brussels, within the framework of the "The Wanted" operation, the extradition from Belgium to Albania of citizen EJ alias EP, 41 years old, was finalized.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with the decision dated 15.05.2024, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics", "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", "Criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a structured criminal group".

From the investigations conducted by SPAK, it is suspected that this citizen, in collaboration with other citizens, during the period June-November 2020, trafficked approximately 160 kg of the narcotic substance cannabis sativa, from Albania to Montenegro, with the final destination being the countries of the European Union.

The extradited citizen was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons./ CNA
