They trafficked drugs from Latin America to Italy/ Two arrested

Today, two people involved in drug trafficking from Latin America to Italy were arrested in Albania.

The arrested persons, aged 34 and 30, were arrested for the purpose of extradition to Italy.

Police Notification:

The State Police contributes to the international anti-drug operational plan, coded "BOCA DEH RIO", developed by law enforcement agencies in Florence.

Arrested in Albania, with the purpose of extradition, 2 members of criminal groups involved in the trafficking of Cocaine from Latin America to Italy.

Also, premises connected to 20 other citizens, suspected to be involved in this activity, are checked.

20,000 euros, 52 watches of different brands, 1 vehicle, 7 mobile phones, notarial contracts and other documents were seized from the controls.

Following the investigative and procedural actions, carried out within the framework of the international anti-drug operational plan, coded "BOCA DEH RIO", initiated by the law enforcement agencies in Italy, the Sector for the Investigation of Criminal Groups, in the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime, in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, the Directorate of the National Security Force, the National Bureau of Investigation and the DVPs of Tirana and Durrës, executed the decisions of the GjKKO, for:

- the temporary arrest, with the purpose of extradition to Italy, of citizens JK, 34 years old, resident of Kavajë and MN, 30 years old, resident of Puka, accused by the Court of Florence, of narcotics trafficking, carried out as part of the group of organized crime;

- the control of premises related to 20 citizens suspected of being involved in this criminal activity.

From the investigations carried out within the operational plan "BOCA DEH RIO", it is suspected that these citizens, organized as a group, during the period 2018-2024, have trafficked significant quantities of the narcotic substance Cocaine from Latin America and then sold it in the cities of Pisa, Florence, Livorno, Venice and Rome.

Interpol Tirana continues the cooperation with Interpol Rome, for the extradition to Italy of the 2 arrested citizens.
