Attempted to smuggle cigarette cartons/ Two brothers handcuffed in Kapshtica

A case of smuggling of goods was cracked at Kapshtica customs.

As a result, two brothers were arrested for attempting to smuggle cartons of cigarettes without purchase receipts and undeclared.

The arrested were checked at the second line at the entrance to Albanian territory, where contraband cigarettes were found.

Kapshtica BCP/A case of attempted smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid is cracked down on. 

Two brothers who attempted to smuggle dozens of cartons of cigarettes were caught red-handed by the Border Police. The cartons of cigarettes were seized. 

Following the work of the Border Police services at the Kapshtica BCP, to crack down on illegalities, citizens RT and KT, residents of Bilisht, were checked at the second line, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania.  

During the check, these citizens were found to have dozens of packs of cigarettes, without purchase receipts, that they had not declared.   

Following the procedural actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens RT, 43 years old, and KT, 47 years old, residents of Bilisht, for the criminal offense of "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension of customs or excise duties".    

The procedural materials were referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action/ CNA
