A 36-year-old man was identified and arrested after making a purchase at the market with a counterfeit 100-euro note.

At the time of the arrest, another 100-euro banknote, also counterfeit, was found.

Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, based on information obtained that a citizen possessed and made purchases with counterfeit euro banknotes, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Counterfeit Banknotes".

From the verifications, it is suspected that this citizen had used counterfeit 100 euro banknotes for purchases in markets and stores.

The investigation revealed that a few minutes before his arrest, he had purchased products at a market in neighborhood no. 12, with another suspected counterfeit 100-euro banknote.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Fraud" and "Counterfeiting of Coins" ./CNA
