Market security institutions in Kosovo have discovered a case of serious violation in the precious metals market.

Over 45 kg of gold seized in Peja

The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance (IQMT), in close coordination with the State Prosecutor's Office in Peja, the Kosovo Police and Kosovo Customs, carried out a large-scale operation in the Peja Region today, which led to the seizure of 45 kilograms of gold.

"Temporary seizure of IQMT goods has found and seized a quantity of over 20 kg of gold, which was unverified and unmarked by the Kosovo Metrology Agency. This goods will remain blocked until the completion of regular legal procedures."

IQMT warns all economic operators that controls will continue with high intensity throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and rigorous punitive measures will be taken against any irregularities according to the laws in force. /CNA
