The Secretary General of Interpol, Jurgen Stock, was received in a meeting by the Director General of the State Police, Major Muhamet Rrumbullaku, and senior leaders of the State Police.

Stock's visit to Albania took place almost 3 months after the visit of the General Director of the PSh to the Interpol Center in Lyon, France.

During the meeting, cooperation so far was evaluated and the importance of strengthening cooperation was emphasized, in order to achieve even better results in the fight against global challenges, in the field of the fight against criminality, especially against narcotics, trafficking, money laundering, cybercrime, etc. .

The General Director has thanked the Secretary General of Interpol, for the support and trust that Interpol has given and is giving to the State Police. He emphasized that the State Police is determined to expand cooperation with Interpol and all international law enforcement agencies.

"As I informed you during my visit to Lyon, I am very determined in the request for mediation and support from the General Secretariat of Interpol, for the capture of wanted persons outside the map of the countries that have an agreement with Albania. This mediation would bring a reaction two-way and exchange of information in real time with these countries, for the capture of wanted persons", - said Rrumbullaku.

Jurgen Stock assured the General Director that Interpol will continue to support the Albanian Police, mediating with the countries with which the State Police does not have a cooperation agreement, because Interpol considers cooperation very important in the fight against crime.

The General Secretary appreciated the approach of the General Director regarding the reforms in the Police and expressed his willingness to help the State Police in those areas where it is necessary and appropriate.

Also, he appreciated the State Police as an important and reliable organization in the arena of international police cooperation.

"The creation of analytical platforms for information exchange, with the aim of expanding cooperation, is the key to success during the interaction", - said Stock.
