Apartment adapted for prostitution/Chinese pimp arrested in Pogradec

Korça Police have finalized the "Last Night" operation, which cracked down on a prostitution case in Pogradec.

The illegal activity was carried out in an apartment rented by two Chinese nationals.

As a result, the police arrested Chinese citizen HF, 61, and declared her compatriot, CL, 46, wanted.

They are accused of "Prostitution" and "Counterfeiting of Coins".

The owner of the apartment was also prosecuted for "Maintaining premises for prostitution".

Officers found and seized amounts of money and 4 mobile phones.

After 2 months of investigations using proactive methods, the police operation codenamed "Last night" is finalized.

They had adapted an apartment they had rented in Pogradec for the practice of prostitution, 1 Chinese citizen was arrested, and another Chinese citizen was declared wanted.          

The apartment owner is being prosecuted.

Sums of money in various currencies, suspected counterfeit banknotes and 4 mobile phones were seized.    

Specialists of the Trafficking Investigation Section, as a result of investigations conducted with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, over the course of two months, to crack down on the illegal activity of prostitution, finalized the operation codenamed "Last night".      

As a result of this operation, a rented apartment was discovered in neighborhood no. 1, Pogradec, which had been adapted for the practice of prostitution.  

The investigation identified 2 Chinese citizens, organizers of this criminal activity. One of them, citizen HF, 61 years old, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Prostitution" and "Counterfeiting of currency", while the other citizen, CL, 46 years old, resident in China, was declared wanted. Efforts are underway to capture her.   

Also, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated against the owner of the apartment, citizen L. Xh., 33 years old, resident of Pogradec, for the criminal offense of "Maintaining premises for prostitution".

 As material evidence, sums of money in various currencies, suspected counterfeit Lek banknotes, which were found on the arrested citizen, and 4 cell phones were seized. 

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, investigations are continuing as it is suspected that there are other citizens involved in this criminal activity inside and outside the country, from where the calls and advertising actions for this activity were made.  

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action./ CNA
