Criminalized police dome/Why is Ilir Proda not held accountable?

The Special Court remanded in prison this Monday three police officers arrested during a weekend operation that targeted two criminal groups. The two crime bosses, Himara's Shkëlzen Ruska and Lushnja's Ervis Alisinanaj, were remanded in prison.

Also former officer Erdit Hazizaj. Meanwhile, the chief of the border police in Saranda, Elvis Dervishi, has been declared wanted. They are accused by SPAK of cultivating cannabis, being active members of criminal groups, and were caught in communications on Sky ECC.

But who are the officers who are behind bars today?
Elvis Dervishi was appointed, on August 18, 2024, head of the Border Police Commissariat in Saranda. Dervishi was transferred to Saranda after his previous assignment at the General Directorate of the State Police.
Ervis Alisinanaj most recently held the position of Head of Crimes at the Lushnja Commissariat. Alisinanaj was previously part of the Vlora border police.

He held the position of specialist in this Sector. Alisinanaj was later dismissed from this position on August 2, 2022 by former police chief Gledis Nano, due to the tragedy that occurred in Potam where a 7-year-old girl lost her life.
Erdit Hazizaj has been no longer effective since 2022, while he was part of the Operational Forces.

Shkëlzen Ruska, the crime boss of Himara, was also left in prison. The latter, like Erdit Hazizaj, Evis Alisinanaj and Elvis Dervishi, informed traffickers about police movements.

So 4 police officers, including 3 still on duty with high positions in the police department, were collaborating with drug traffickers.

The Head of Police, Ilir Proda, together with the Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha, made a shake-up in the police, while a competition was also opened for 12 police directors in the regions and 48 police chiefs, in the year we left behind. Proda said that this process would improve the image of the Police, increase security parameters and achieve higher results in the fight against crime.
On the other hand, SPAK every day more and more as it uncovers conversations on SKY, it reveals from the simplest officers to the police chiefs, connected to criminal groups.

Many officers, frightened by criminal groups, decide to submit to the latter and often choose to cooperate with them voluntarily. The question that arises is whether Chief of Police Ilir Proda feels any moral and legal responsibility for the criminalization of the State Police and its submission to crime ? Where are the law enforcement institutions, even within the State Police, that should control police officers? Every day, more and more incriminated officers are added, tarnishing even those honest police officers who try to perform their duties with devotion.

If crime rises and the police dome has no power to stop it, but decides to cooperate with it , how strong can the simple and defenseless citizen be in the face of crime's revenge?!/ CNA
