A 5-day-old baby dies/ The doctor under investigation

A serious event took place in Vlora Hospital, where a 5-day-old baby died.

Official sources from the local police have announced that, in connection with this event, they have taken under investigation a hospital doctor, who is accused of negligent treatment.

Announcement of the Vlora Police:

The Vlora Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and started the criminal proceedings against the IC citizen, 53 years old, resident in Vlora, profession neonatologist at the Maternity Hospital of the Vlora Regional Hospital, suspected of the criminal offense "Negligent medicine", after on 04.10. 2024, a 5-day-old baby, born to a SH citizen, passed away in this maternity hospital. Work continues under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office to clarify and fully document the cause of the baby's death and to determine legal responsibilities.
