"No employee has hit Agron Gjekmarkaj"/ Police deny violence against

The head of the Democrats and all the other opposition parties accused the police of putting Agron Gjekmarkaj in the hospital, since he did not feel well during the protest.

The State Police reacted by rejecting the statement of the head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.

The police report states that Agron Gjekmarkaj was not hit by any police officer.

Among other things, the Police express regret for the violent actions of MP Flamur Noka, who, according to the police, insulted, cursed and pushed the police officers who were performing their duties.

Reaction of the Tirana Local Police Directorate

The State Police refutes the media statement of Mr. Sali Berisha, where he claimed that MP Agron Gjekmarkaj was beaten by police officers.

Deputy Gjekmarkaj was not hit by any police officer, but, from the first data, it appears that he did not feel well in terms of health and left the protest.

The State Police regrets these statements and, above all, the violent actions of MP Flamur Noka, who not only disobeyed the Police order to clear the road, but also violently objected, pushing, insulting and hitting Police officers who were on duty to clear the road for the free movement of vehicles and citizens.

Tirana Police has identified all those citizens who illegally blocked the road and opposed the order of the Police officers to release it and will be prosecuted according to the law.

Blocking roads is a criminal offense, which was made clear to the organizers of the protest in the response from the Tirana Local Police Directorate, which took over the guarantee of the protest, but without blocking the free movement of vehicles and citizens./CNA
