The 31-year-old man is arrested for money laundering/ His apartment and 3 cars

A 31-year-old man is arrested in Elbasan, who has been assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" for "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".

According to the police announcement, the 31-year-old was arrested earlier in Italy, for participating in a criminal organization for the exploitation of prostitution.

The police seized 1 apartment in Durrës and 3 vehicles which are suspected to have been obtained from criminal activity. 

Police Notification:

As part of a procedure for tracking, locating and seizing assets derived from criminal activities, the specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Resource".

As a result of the operation, in cooperation with the services of the Special Operational Force, the citizen MA, 31 years old, resident in Elbasan, was arrested and detained by the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Elbasan, with the decision dated 01.12.2024 , has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Cleaning the products of the criminal offense or criminal activity".

Also, assets worth about 136,000 euros (1 apartment in Durrës and 3 vehicles) were seized, which are suspected to be the source of the criminal activities of this citizen.

The 31-year-old was previously arrested in Italy for participating in a criminal organization for the exploitation of prostitution.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
