Action on the coastline/ Occupied public spaces, 12 people under investigation

The Himarë police have carried out checks along the coastline where they have found that the public spaces have been occupied by deckchairs.

For this, 12 citizens have been investigated and 300 umbrellas and 480 sunbeds were seized yesterday.

"Within the police operational plan coded "Free beach", the Himarë Police Station has continued the controls on the coastline with the aim of freeing public spaces on the beaches.

There is free space on the coastline, on the "Krorëz" beach.

12 citizens are being criminally prosecuted, who occupied public space by building without permission 12 facilities adapted as bars/beach bars, from where services and products were offered without issuing tax vouchers, hiding income and avoiding taxes.

300 umbrellas and 480 sunbeds are seized.

In the framework of the operational plan for the control and release of illegally occupied coastal areas, the Section for the Investigation of Crimes at the Himarë Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against 12 citizens: BI, 34 years old, AL, 34 years old, VA, 34 years old, AI, 71 years old, IH, 51 years old, ER, 52 years old, AK, 62 years old, Dh. M., 51 years old, AT, 44 years old, AR, 68 years old, Dh. K., 69 years old and MV, 25 years old, all residents of Saranda.

The Police Services, in cooperation with the Himarë Municipal Police, have found in the space illegally occupied by these citizens, 12 wooden structures built without permission, as well as 300 umbrellas and 480 sunbeds, which have been removed, vacate the public space on the "Krorëz" beach.

Also, from the verifications carried out, it was found that in these subjects with a local activity field/beach bar, services and products were offered without issuing tax vouchers.

The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
