The police carried out an anti-drug operation in Malësi i Madhe, Vau i Dejës, Administrative Units of Shkodër Municipality, where 19,300 cannabis plants grown in cubes were destroyed and 97 kilograms of cannabis were seized.

The police have announced the search for 2 suspected perpetrators, citizens NM, 42 years old and BM, 37 years old, born in the village of "Ura e Shstrenjte" and residents of Shkodër, for whom the work for their capture continues.

Hello, I am here today together with my staff to present the results of the work within the national anti-cannabis police operation coded "Clean Territory" which has started since the beginning of this week from Shkodra.
I also want to communicate through you with the citizens of Shkodër district, for their awareness in order to cooperate even more with the Police to denounce every case of attempts to cultivate cannabis and any other illegality.

The structures of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate in implementation of the tasks defined in the "Clean Territory" operational plan, approved by the General Director of the State Police for taking preventive and operational measures against attempts to cultivate, produce, sell and traffic of cannabis, has started field control operations for a week.

Based on police intelligence and as a result of the mass control of the territory, supported by the General Directorate of the State Police with means of high mobility with logistic equipment, mainly drones of high quality, it has become possible to document 11 cases of attempts to cultivated cannabis in different places of the territory of Shkodër district.

For 11 cases, 19,300 cannabis seedlings cultivated in cubes, pots and on the ground, in Malësi i Madhe, Vau i Dejës, Administrative Units of Shkodër Municipality, were identified and destroyed, and 2,160 cannabis seeds were seized.
For these cases, the investigative structures of the Shkoder Local Police Directorate, the Commissariats subordinate to it under the direction of the Shkoder General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, as well as for some cases with SPAK, continue proactive investigations for persons and criminal groups that organize this criminal activity.
In implementation of the tasks defined in the national operational plan "Clean Territory" and "Temple 2", during the last few hours, information was obtained about an attempt to traffic a significant amount of suspected processed marijuana in the form of chocolate and in the form vase.

The Investigation structures in the Local Directorate, the Operational structures and the Shqiponja have intervened in the "Skënderbeg" neighborhood, Shkodër in an environment adapted with a tunnel to hide the narcotic substance and during the control in the tunnel they found and seized 65.5 kilograms of processed marijuana in the form of chocolate .

Following the operation inside a van-type vehicle parked near this area, 31.5 kilograms of cannabis in the shape of a barrel and a quantity of military ammunition were found and seized.

At the time of the intervention, the suspects have not been identified, but from the preliminary investigations, the search for two citizens was made as the suspected perpetrators of this case, namely citizens NM, 42 years old and BM, 37 years old, born in the village of "Ura e Shstrenjte" and residents of Shkodër, for whom the work for their capture continues.

The investigations show that these two citizens, in cooperation with each other and a group of other people, are suspected of being involved in the criminal activity of the production and sale of cannabis in Shkodra region.

During the first four months of this year, about 51,000 cannabis plants were identified and destroyed, the logistical basis for the identified cases, about 10,000 seeds, 170 kilograms of cannabis, and other items used for cultivation, and its sale products were seized. .

61 citizens have been arrested, detained and processed, while in-depth investigations continue for dozens of other citizens and criminal groups for the cases recorded this week.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, I would like to address the citizens who love and follow the law, who want their children to be safe on the road, at school and not be threatened by the risk of using narcotics or being involved in the distribution of narcotics:

Report any case of illegality in any field that appears and is ascertained by you.
A call and appeal also for those residents who are lied to by criminal persons or groups falling prey to them to be involved in the criminal activity of cultivation, production and sale of narcotics, to be careful and denounce any indication of this practice criminal activity.

The Local Directorate of Police Shkodër with the support of the General Directorate of the State Police is determined to attack any criminal phenomenon that appears and for this reason in the following days we will intensify controls in the territory, in closed premises where cannabis can be cultivated with side of the lamps.

I also want to assure the citizens that the Shkodër District Police is fully committed to guarantee order and security, to implement the measures of the security package in schools and to strengthen cooperation with law enforcement agencies in order to prevent, identify and attack crime in general and organized crime in particular.
