A murder was registered in the village of Lajthizë in Mirdita.

The police announced that the 68-year-old man with the initials FR was shot from the window of the room where he was sleeping.

It is suspected that the murder happened two days ago, but it was discovered only this Tuesday.

The victim's daughter had lost contact with her father and had gone to the village to check on him. She found the 68-year-old dead and notified the police.

The Blues have accompanied some residents of the village to the police station and are conducting investigations to solve the murder.

Police notification:

On 20.08.2024, the LR citizen notified the Police that she found her father, the FR citizen, 68 years old, dead, in the family's apartment in the village of Lajthizë, Orosh administrative unit, where the 68-year-old spent the summer months. He had lost contact with his family for 2 days.

The services of the local Police and the special investigative group immediately went to the scene.

From the preliminary examination of the scene, it is suspected that the 68-year-old man was shot from the window of the room where he was sleeping, and as a result he lost his life.

Until these moments, some citizens, residents of this village, have been accompanied to the police station for further action.

At the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, intensive investigations are being carried out to identify and apprehend the author(s) of the case as well as to clarify the circumstances./ CNA
