The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, announced that after the session of December 15, the Government of Serbia will send a request to the commander of the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, to send up to 1,000 security forces to Kosovo.

Beogradi zyrtar qysh më 8 dhjetor paralajmëroi shqyrtimin e vendosjes së forcave të veta në Kosovë, në bazë të Rezolutës 1244 të Kombeve të Bashkuara. Me këtë paralajmërim, ai iu përgjigj pranisë së shtuar të Policisë së Kosovës në pjesën veriore të vendit, e cila është e banuar me shumicë serbe.Deri te kjo situatë erdhi një muaj pasi serbët në veri u larguan nga institucionet e Kosovës.REL iu drejtua KFOR-it për koment, por nuk mori ende përgjigje.

Më 10 dhjetor, kur serbët lokalë nisën ngritjen e barrikadave në veri të Kosovës, Vuçiç deklaroi në Beograd se e di që kërkesa për dërgimin e trupave në Kosovë “do të refuzohet” nga KFOR-i. Megjithatë, lideri serb pretendoi se sipas Rezolutës 1244, Serbia ka të drejtë të kthejë forcat e saj në Kosovë.

Por, ekspertët kushtetues dhe të sigurisë, i kanë thënë më herët Radios Evropa e Lirë se edhe në bazë të Rezolutës 1244 dhe dokumentet e tjera, nuk lejojnë që Serbia të dërgojë trupa në Kosovë.
