Ukraine shoots down 12 Russian drones

Ukraine said on Tuesday it had destroyed 12 Russian drones targeting several regions of Ukraine, while Russia said 15 Ukrainian missiles targeted the Belgorod region along the border between the two countries.

Ukraine's air force said the country's air defenses shot down the drones over Mykolayiv and Kharkiv regions.

Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, announced in a statement on the Telegram social network that a building was destroyed by the attacks, but that there were no casualties.

Vitaliy Kim, governor of the Mykolayiv region, announced on the Telegram network that three of the drones crashed over his region. He reported no damage or casualties.

Russia's Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that its air defenses shot down 15 Ukrainian missiles in several waves of attacks overnight.

The rockets targeted the Belgorod region, where Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced through the Telegram social network that 20 houses were damaged and several people were injured in this attack./ VOA
