The number of victims deepens/ Over 2100 killed in the Israel-Palestine war

Israeli retaliatory attacks on Palestinians have continued unabated, further increasing the number of war victims.

The death toll in Israel has reached 1,200, while more than 900 people have been killed in retaliatory airstrikes in Gaza. So, in total, more than 2,100 people were killed.

Meanwhile, overnight dozens of Israeli Air Force warplanes struck more than 200 targets in the Al-Furqan neighborhood in Gaza, believed to be the hot spot where Hamas plans and executes its attacks. 

The Israel Defense Forces say this is the third counterattack in the area in the past 24 hours.

As the fighting continues, the US is negotiating with Israel and Egypt for the safe passage of Gazan civilians. US President Joe Biden condemned Hamas' attack on Israel, calling it "total evil". 

The US is increasing military aid to Israel, after the first US weapons plane arrived in southern Israel on Tuesday evening.

On the other hand, Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, said that Israel's response to Gaza may have violated international law. 

"Israel has the right to defend itself, but it must be done according to international law, humanitarian law," he said./ CNA
