The majority of cars sold in Norway in 2024 were electric

Nine out of 10 new cars sold last year in Norway were all-electric, the country's latest registration data showed.

Thus, Norway is close to achieving the goal of adding only electric cars to the roads by 2025.

Fully electric cars will account for 88.9 percent of new cars sold in 2024, an increase of 82.4 percent compared to 2023, the Norwegian Road Federation has said.

According to the data, brands such as Tesla, Volkswagen and Toyota have sold the most electric cars in this country.

"Norway will be the first country in the world to eliminate diesel and gasoline cars from the new car market," said Christina Bu, head of the Norwegian EV Association./ Rel
