US indicts two Chinese agents

Law enforcement officials in the United States have charged two Chinese intelligence officers with allegedly trying to obstruct the Justice Department's criminal investigation into Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies. The charges are part of three separate criminal cases involving 13 Chinese nationals, including 10 government agents and officials.

United States Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray and other top law enforcement officials announced Monday the indictment of two Chinese nationals.

"Në distriktin lindor të Nju Jorkut janë bërë publike akuzat ndaj dy oficerëve të zbulimit të Republikës Popullore e Kinës për përpjekje për të penguar, ndikuar dhe bllokuar hetimin penal të një kompanie telekomunikacioni nga Kina. Në akuzë thuhet se në vitin 2019 , të pandehurit i kërkuan një punonjësi të një agjencie të zbatimit të ligjit të qeverisë amerikane që të vjedhë informacione sekrete në lidhje me hetimin penal nga Shtetet e Bashkuara të kompanisë kineze. Të pandehurit besonin se ata kishin rekrutuar punonjësin amerikan si një agjent të tyre. Por në fakt, individi që ata rekrutuan ishte një agjent i dyfishtë që punonte për FBI-në", tha Prokurori i Përgjithshëm Merrick Garland.

The two Chinese intelligence agents have been identified in court documents as Dong He and Zheng Wang. Both are believed to be in China.

Huawei officials and the Chinese embassy in Washington have not yet commented on the matter. In the past, Huawei executives have called the federal investigation into them "pure political persecution."

FBI Director Christopher Wray announced the fact that every 12 hours the FBI opens a new counterintelligence investigation related to China's activities in the United States./REL
