Russia launches over 200 drones towards Ukraine, 5 victims/ Problems with energy and water

At least five people have been killed after Russia launched a massive offensive across Ukraine, knocking out several power and water supplies, the BBC reports. 

The explosions rocked several cities, including Kiev first, as more than half of the country's regions were attacked.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 100 missiles and about 100 attack drones were launched from Russia overnight.

Russia claims to have used high-precision weapons to hit infrastructure.

Power outages have been reported in many Ukrainian cities and water supplies have been cut off. 

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that "the topic of negotiations with Ukraine has somewhat lost its importance."

He also says Russia is responding to Ukraine's latest incursion into the Kursk region./CNA
