The acting president of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has authorized the deployment of the Kosovo Security Force to Gaza, as part of the International Stabilization Force.

In a reaction on social media, Haxhiu says that Kosovo, from a country that once needed support, is today contributing to the international scene. She also adds that this decision strengthens Kosovo's place in the international arena.

"Following approval by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, today I authorized the deployment of the Kosovo Security Force to an international peacekeeping operation, as part of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. This decision reflects a Kosovo that understands security as an obligation to its citizens and as a responsibility to international peace and order. From a country that once needed the support of others, Kosovo today takes responsibility and contributes to the international scene.

"The Kosovo Security Force is an institution built with professionalism and high standards, ready to serve alongside our strategic partners. Participation in such missions proves the state maturity of our Republic and the place that Kosovo is strengthening every day in the international arena," Haxhiu's reaction states.

On March 30, the Government approved the Ministry of Defense's proposal to send KSF members to Gaza. Meanwhile, on April 17, the Parliament approved the government's request for the KSF to participate in the peacekeeping mission. /CNA
