Pope Leo/The Holy Father holds the first mass in the Sistine Chapel today

Today, the new Pope, Leo XIV, will celebrate his first mass with the cardinals.

The Mass will be held at 11:00 AM in the Sistine Chapel, in the Vatican where the Conclave to elect the Pope was also held.

On Sunday, at noon, from the central Loggia of St. Peter's Basilica, he will say the first prayer to the Queen of Heaven as Pope.

On Monday, May 12, at 10:00 AM, in the Paul VI Hall, he will meet with all the journalists and media workers who have been closely following the Conclave and other events since the passing of Pope Francis.

Further, the director of the Vatican Press Office explained that the name chosen by the new Pope clearly recalls his predecessor Leo XIII, Pope of the encyclical "Rerum Novarum", promulgated on May 15, 1891, a document at the origin of the modern social doctrine of the Catholic Church./ CNA
