Pope Francis called on the world on Saturday to stop using crude fuels.
He made these statements before a climate summit being held in Dubai, but not in physical presence, due to an illness.
The head of the Holy See has mentioned in particular the end of the use of coal, oil and gas, as well as the need to change the way of life in order to save the planet.
Among other things, the Pope has also requested that the debts of poor countries, hit by climate change, be forgiven.
Francis is the first pope in history to address such a summit.
Recently, there have been calls for the participating leaders to use the summit to decide on the future of coal, oil and gas, the main resources driving the warming of the planet.
The president of the climate summit, Sultan Al-Jaber, has said that giving up this subject is "inevitable", although the oil company owned by his country, the United Arab Emirates, has said that it will significantly increase production. REL
