The 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit the eastern coast of the Mindanao region in the southern Philippines on Saturday.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced the news.
The quake struck at a depth of 32.8 kilometers at 10:37 p.m. local time (1437 GMT), the USGS said.
