First Mass/ Message from Pope Leo: I know I can count on each of you to walk

Pope Leo XIV celebrated his first mass today after his election to the papal throne.

During his speech, Pope Leo addressed the cardinals, telling them that he knows he can count on each of them to continue as a community of friends, as believers.

" You have called me to carry that cross and fulfill that mission, and I know that I can count on each of you to walk with me, as we continue as a Church, as a community of friends of Jesus, as believers, to proclaim the Good News, to proclaim the Gospel ," the Holy Father said in his message.

 

The Mass was held today at 11:00 AM in the Sistine Chapel, in the Vatican, where the Conclave for the election of the Pope was also held.

On Sunday, at noon, from the central Loggia of St. Peter's Basilica, he will say the first prayer to the Queen of Heaven as Pope.

On Monday, May 12, at 10:00 AM, in the Paul VI Hall, he will meet with all journalists and media workers who have been closely following the Conclave and other events since the passing of Pope Francis./ CNA
