Kosovo confirmed the first case of Monkey Pox.

The news was announced by the National Institute of Public Health, where it announced that a 30-year-old citizen of Kosovo is infected with this virus.

The 30-year-old is being treated at the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Pristina since December 24, after returning from West Africa.

The symptoms had appeared since the changes in the skin, from the hands and to the face, temperature, fever and itching.

According to the institute, the patient is in a stable state of health.

The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, said later that Kosovo has taken all measures, that additional announcements will be issued soon.

"I also have that much information. We have taken all the measures and for any additional information, I believe that the IKShPK will come out with additional information"

Monkeypox is a viral infection that causes pus-filled blisters and has flu-like symptoms. The infection is usually mild but can be fatal. /CNA
