Iran reiterates: Strait of Hormuz is fully managed by IRGC forces

Iran has once again reiterated the rule over Tehran's control of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement published in Iranian media, the Iranian command emphasized that the management of the Strait is exercised with full authority by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"All ships, merchant vessels and tankers must only travel through designated routes and obtain permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy. Any violation of these regulations will seriously jeopardize the safety of their traffic," the announcement said.

Through this message, the local command warns commercial and military vessels to comply with regulations for passage through the region 's strategic waterway./CNA
