Rescue teams in Turkey and Syria continue to search today in the bitter cold to find survivors in the rubble. The first 72 hours are critical for finding survivors, with more than 90% of survivors located within that time, notes Ilan Kelman, a disaster researcher at University College London (UCL).

Gjatë vizitës së tij në rajon, presidenti turk Rexhep Tajip Erdogan të mërkurën pranoi se ishin bërë disa gabime në menaxhimin e katastrofës, ndërsa kritikat u shtuan.
