Grenell: The Washington agreement was negotiated by Thaçi, not Hoti

The former special envoy of the United States of America for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, says that Hashim Thaçi was the one who had negotiated with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, for the Washington Agreement, and not the prime minister at the time, Avdullah Hoti. .

In an interview for "The Pavlovic Today" he said that if former president Hashim Thaçi was still president, people in Kosovo would be in peace and would live more prosperously.

"They would also have great economic cooperation with their neighbors and more jobs for their children if Thaçi were to return," added Grenell.

The Washington Agreement was signed on September 4, 2020 at the White House, by the then Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and the President of Serbia, Vucic.

According to this agreement, Kosovo and Serbia must implement several agreements such as the one for the Pristina-Belgrade highway, the agreement for railways, devoting itself to the feasibility study for the possibilities of connecting the railway infrastructure between the two countries and with a deep sea port in the Adriatic ./CNA.al
