Dog infected with monkeypox after sleeping in bed with "gay" couple

A dog in Paris has contracted monkeypox after sleeping in the same bed as its owners.

According to the British newspaper "Telegraph", both homosexuals had shown symptoms at the end of June and after the tests they were confirmed to be infected with monkey pox.

12 days after they were hospitalized, their dog showed similar symptoms.

After undergoing PCR analysis and gene sequencing, it was discovered that the monkeypox that had infected the dog was the same as that of the two owners.

"Our findings should fuel debate on the need to isolate pets from monkeypox virus-positive individuals. We call for immediate investigation of the possibility of transmission from domestic animals" , said the doctors. /CNA.al
