Formation of the new government in Kosovo/ Osmani mandates Kurti

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has mandated the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to form a new government.

Through a post on social media, the Presidency announced that Osmani has today signed the decree mandating Kurti to form the Kosovo government.

The announcement states that according to the Constitution of Kosovo, Kurti is obliged to present the composition and program of the Government to the Assembly for approval, within 15 days of signing the presidential decree.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in support of her constitutional powers, has today signed the Decree, which mandates Mr. Albin Kurti to form the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

This decision was made following the official proposal of the Vetëvendosje Movement party, which won the largest number of seats in the Assembly from the results of the elections held on February 9 of this year.

According to the Constitution, the mandate holder for the formation of the Government, Mr. Kurti, is obliged, no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of the decree, to submit the composition and program of the Government to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo for approval.

The President wished success to Mr. Kurti, the acting Prime Minister, with the hope that the Republic of Kosovo will soon have a Government with a full constitutional mandate./ CNA
