The intervention was carried out yesterday. The news was announced by the Deputy Minister of Health in Greece, Irini Agapidaki.
In a status on social networks, Agapidaki states that the intervention was performed by two surgeons Georgios Sotiropoulos and Dieter Broering.
"Yesterday, the first liver transplant in our country was successfully performed from a living donor (father) to a living recipient (daughter)!
The operation was performed at the General Hospital by Professor of Surgery Georgios Sotiropoulos, with the contribution of Professor of Surgery Dieter Broering.
