The Minister of Economy and Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated today at the monthly Conference on the latest economic developments that Albania currently has the lowest levels of inflation in the region.

" Albania has resulted in lower inflation than all the countries in the region ", said Ibrahimaj.

In advance, Ibrahimaj justified the increase in the level of public debt with the increase in inflation.

"The acceleration of economic growth and the slowdown of domestic and foreign borrowing has led to an increase in the debt level, which reached 69.6% in the first quarter. The slowdown in the level of debt is observed as early as 2021. The main concern is inflation. In the first 5 months, inflation is 5.2%, when only in May it reached 6.7%" , she said.

Has inflation increased or decreased? For Ibrahimaj, it has increased when it comes to public debt, but when it comes to the prices of consumer products, inflation has decreased.
